Vector Interplay is an extradimensional card game for two-players. This collection of cards includes artwork from across all of the projects I’ve released through my studio. Explore coded fables, iconic images, esoteric prose, and other unrealities. The extraverse awaits you.

What’s Included

Vector Interplay Cards – Card strategy from an extradimension of artifacts, myths, and moods. The card game is easy to learn and includes optional layers of complexity.

Vector Interplay Art Zine – A curious document which includes game rules, notes about each game card, and lots more to puzzle over. New to zines? In short, they’re simply indie-made magazines. I think you’ll find this one’s pretty special.

After years of hyperactive imaginings, I’ve produced a lot of art. Some images come from sleep study dreams. Others are ideas hatched during meetings about meetings. And some may appear to be random nonsense, but conceal deeper story elements.

This project is a way for me to sample artwork and stories from a variety of personal projects in one collection. I refer to all of this as my own sorta “extraverse.” It’s a nod to how my art career started – with all the extra time I spent as a kid drawing and writing nonsensical things. Over the years I’ve ended up with so many pieces of art and story that have never been seen before. With Vector Interplay, all of these extras have a home now.

Design Notes

Vector Interplay is inspired by my love of the esoteric, the weird, the different. Watching Science Fiction Theater specials as a kid left me with a few creative dents. Other shows like the Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits left me with all kinds of feelings about film-noir and the realm of unreality.

BTW – You’ll notice very limited color-use with this project. At first, I thought this was a conscious decision. But, was it? When I was a boy, Dad was into black-and-white classics, western films, and sci-fi flicks, so most of what I watched wasn’t full-color. Hmmm. Perhaps the subconscious is where unreality begins?

Made For

Card strategy gamers Vector Interplay isn’t a TCG or battler. It plays on a 3 × 3 grid and it’s all about controlling spots on the grid to gain points. Expect lots of strategy in a small table space.

Art enjoyers – For those looking for lots of art and images to explore, there’s no shortage here. In fact the booklet that comes with the game includes the rules as well as more art, maps, factual data, and notes on each card – which may or may not be from a reputable source.

Solvers of riddles A picture may tell a thousand words, but some words are pictures.
